Education on The Impact of Bullying on Self-Harm Prevention Efforts in Adolescents

Adolescence is a transitional phase of psychological development that is highly vulnerable to social stressors, one of which is bullying. Unaddressed bullying risks triggering mental disorders and even self-harm behavior as a maladaptive coping mechanism. Objective: This community service activity aims to increase adolescent awareness of the forms of bullying, understand the psychological impact of bullying on self-harm behavior, equip emotional regulation skills, and create a commitment to a conducive and empathetic school environment. Method: The implementation of this service uses psychoeducational methods of interactive lectures, interactive panel discussions, and symbolic action of signing an anti-bullying declaration. The activity was held on January 20, 2026, at Senior High School 1 Sukatani, Purwakarta. Results: Students showed significant improvement in understanding the distinction between joking and bullying, the creation of a safe space for students to express emotional concerns, and the realization of a collective agreement through the declaration of an 'Anti-Bullying School'. Conclusion: This education was effective in broadening students' insights. It is recommended to strengthen counseling guidance programs and establish anonymous reporting channels as continuous preventive measures.
