Education is an important thing that has to be a top priority in public attention. Education and academic achievement in Indonesia are still lagging behind other countries. Learning achievement runs optimally if parents have an optimal role in supporting their children's education. The role of parents influences learning achievement. Giving the optimal role of parents is expected to influence good learning achievement. This study aims to determine the relationship between the role of parents and student achievement in class X Senior High School 2 Banguntapan Bantul. This study used a quantitative research design (non-experimental) with a correlational design and a cross-sectional approach. The population of this research is class X students of Senior High School 2 Banguntapan, totaling 250 students. The samples obtained were 154 samples using a simple random sampling technique. The instruments used were questionnaires and report cards. The data analysis technique used was Kendall's Tau test. Test results with a Kendall Tau correlation coefficient of = 0.643 and a ρ value 0.000 (ρ <0.05). The role of parents of class X SMAN 2 Banguntapan is in the optimal category. Namely, 77 students (50.0%), and the learning achievement of class X SMAN 2 Banguntapan is in a suitable category, 80 students (51.9%). There is a relationship between the role of parents and the learning achievement of class X students of Senior High School 2 Banguntapan, Bantul.
