Abstrak

Acts of physical violence are violations that are included as part of human rights violations. Children who experience violence throughout their life will affect the process of growth and development of physical, psychological, social and behavior. Acts of violence can cause children to lose the most basic things in life and result in death.WHO, UNESCO, UNICEF say that half of the total child population in the world or around one billion children experience physical violence and other types of violence. The report stated that 40,150 children aged 0 to 17 years died as a result of violence globally. A total of 28,160 were boys and 11,190 were girls. Nearly 3 out of 4 children or around 300 experienced corporal punishment or other violence from their parents or caregivers.Mothers are the main place for children's education, but mothers are sometimes mistaken in assuming that educating harshly with corporal punishment is a form of disciplining children.. Efforts that can be made to increase awareness and reduce the incidence of physical violence by providing information.The module is one of the media which is teaching material in printed form which is used for independent study because in the module there are study instructions that can be studied by individuals. The aim of this research is knowing the effect of the module on preventing physical violence in early childhood on mother's knowledge about physical violence in ABA Janturan Kindergarten, Yogyakarta. This research is a quantitative experimental study using a pre-experimental design (one group pre-post test design). The number of respondents is 60 mothers, the sampling technique used is total sampling. The instrument uses the media module for preventing physical violence in early childhood, and a knowledge questionnaire. Research analysis usingPaired t-test shows that there is a significant difference between the pre-test and post-test on mother's knowledge with a p-value of 0.000.
